Blended Child &
Babysitting Safety
3D HEALTH & SAFETY offers an ASHI/HSI Blended Child & Babysitting Safety (CABS) training certification course that combines the convenience of online learning with face-to-face, in-class exercises, skill practice and evaluation by an authorized instructor. The easy-to use web-based learning system in a Blended Class allows for a variety of sensory interactions to provide users with a low-stress, easy-to-use, and convenient way to learn the required information.
The training program gives teenagers and young adults everything they need to know for safe and successful babysitting. From getting started with their business to relating to parents and children, to key safety, caregiving, and first aid tips, the magazine-formant CABS guide and vlogger style video make learning fun. This program is not intended to meet any regulatory requirements for child care providers.
There are no prerequisites for taking the CABS program, but additional training in CPR, AED, and first aid is highly recommended.
The goal of this training program is to help students develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence to effectively supervise and manage children in their care.
The blended training covers essential cognitive content for the class using program video segments and interactive exercises. Each participant has their own personalized online training portal with 24-hour access to the information. Participants are able to start and stop at any point in the online training and choose a pace that best fits their learning style. Included for each participant is a digital handbook, Class Exercise Guides (4), Babysitting Orientation Form, Babysitting Orientation Guide, On the Job Information Form, and Playtime Activities Guide . A Recognition of Completion certificate will be made available to every participant upon successfully completing the online course. This certificate is required to attend the face-to-face portion of the class.
Following completion of the online portion of the training, students will take part in a live skills instruction session to personalize learning, allow thoughtful reflection, and differentiate instruction from student to student across a diverse group of learners. This session, designed by a professional educator, includes interactive activities to maximize retention of the most important CPR/AED skills. Participants move through stations practicing each lifesaving skill with a partner and are monitored by a certified instructor. This team approach makes the training collaborative and engaging.
Upon completion of both the online and in-person skills sessions, a 2-Year ASHI/HSI certification card is provided.
*ASHI/HSI training programs are recognized, accepted and approved by, or meet the requirements of, nearly 4,500 state regulatory agencies, occupational licensing boards, national associations, commissions and councils in more than 120 occupations and professions.
